The Summer Holiday period is over.
There are plenty of mixed messages about how the market is performing. Some agents are flying, others don’t know which way to turn.
We’ve entered the last four months of the year and the targets for 2018 are starting to loom ever closer.
We don’t feel we’re exaggerating to say that the next six weeks of trading could make or break a lot of estate agencies years.
The difference between a good year and a bad year could be what level of transactions and deals you get into the pipeline now.
With a slowdown reported nationally in second sales it’s now time to look at the one area of estate agency which is growing year on year – land and new homes.
Proactively seeking land and new home opportunities in your area could be the difference that makes a positive difference to your year end plus get you off to a great start in 2019
To gauge how ready, you are for the next six weeks ask yourself the following questions.
- Do you know which sites in your area have been granted with consent to build?
- Is your agency regularly visiting new build sites and getting to know the key contacts there?
- Do you have access to planning application information which you are acting upon on?
- Do you know the best ways to approach and pitch to property developers who have stock that isn’t shifting?
And are you already making business plans for 2019 that includes land and new homes income?
Our members can answer yes to all the above and most of them are looking forward with anticipation to the year-end rather than anxiety.
